On time this time!

Hi, here we are again:

I sort of got addicted to writing in here, so I guess I will stop being so late for my own blog. Who would say?

Never the less, I have 2 mayor tests I REALLy should be studying for, so I’ll make this quick. I hate microeconomics… unless I learn to understand them and become bff. But I think for now it hates me… and I hate it back.

Now, as I promised, my criticism for Source Code:

The plot of the movie is somewhat confusing. We have this machine that can recreate a parallel world through a person’s memory. Apparently, when you die, your brain keeps all the data from your last 8 minutes, so this machine takes that data and creates this world. Confusing? Thankfully, in the movie they explain it better that me.

Anyway, there was this great explosion in a passengers train. It was done by a terrorist who also had a truck with a nuclear bomb in it and was going to make it explode in Chicago. So, the good guys use this machine to enter a man’s memory who happened to be in that same train so they can find the terrorist.

I’m not going to spoil your movie by telling you what happens next, so that would be it for the plot.

Good things about this movie: Jake Gyllenhaal.

Just kidding! He acts really great in this film though, you can believe that he was a soldier first and all. The rest of the cast did a good job too,  some more that others, of course.

The script is fair enough, I mean, they do explain that machine thingy well, but I had trouble understanding the end, thought it lacked something more. 10 seconds more ought to have done it.

All in all, is a good movie to go and see in the cinema with nice popcorn. Hopefully, the kid in the sit in front of you won’t have been taken there by force by his parents and will not be playing in his phone the whole movie, bugging your vision with the light from his screen, but who knows?

Can be enjoyed alone but it’s much better with friends, since you have someone to comment to, which is actually for the best if you get lost. which you won’t, but in any case it’s fun to go out with people.

So that’s all for now folks!

Hope you enjoy the film as much as I did.

Have fun!

Hello again! :D

Hi! I know I’m a whole week late, I’m sorry 😦

This have been crazy this week, I had lots of work and had very little sleep. Now, I should be studying for a test on Tuesday night and I feel so irresponsible right now. Anyways, here comes my criticism!

Burlesque

At first I thought this would be the typical movie were this young, pretty, talented small town girl moves in to the big city in order to find herself and fame and fortune and ends up rocking the stages and being the next great thing. It’s true, the movie is exactly like that. The plot is very simple, no great surprises, yet this movie has two great things: Cher and Christina Aguilera. Singing.

Of course, if you have two singers of their quality (you may not agree with Cristina’s music but you cannot disagree that she has an AMAZING voice. And she proves this in the movie. Repeatedly.) you cannot expect them not to sing at least once. Well, they do, but alas, they never sing together (bomber).

Now, what I really likes about this musical was that is was for the first part of it, not all about Cristina. Of course, this small town girl named Ali takes a long time to get her chance in this saloon that reminded me greatly of Moulin Rouge (without them all being hookers that is). What would have possed this naive girl to want to perform on this club were the dancers are in very, and I mean VERY, provocative outfits, who knows, but Ali proves to everyone by working really hard as a waitress in the club Burlesque first and then auditioning when she wasn’t supposed to, that she deserves to be there. Persistent.

The choreograph are good, although I don’t know much about them, but I enjoyed them greatly. The acting, well, you have some known actors besides the ones I have already spoken about, they act well. There is also the “pretty and nice boy” (who happens to go very often to the gym, if you know what I mean *wink*) who Ali obviously builds up a friendship with, that also acts reasonably well.

All in all, is a good musical, with good performances and great music (of course, any musical with crappy music is immediately a bad one).

Can be enjoyed alone or with a friend at all times of day, except in the morning with a hangover. Do not mix with the movie Moulin Rouge because one the latter is romantic, and this one is more about talents and the club in it self. It has a little love here and there, but is not the main course.

So that is that one, and my next movie will be…*drum rolls*… “Source Code”, which happens to be Thanks for reading!

Yeah, I’m talking to you.

Uff! I’m so late!

Hi!

I’m sorry I am late, things were crazy this week, and last… and pretty much all month. I started this new project in uni and it’s so time-consuming! Invent a business and earn $200.000 in pure profit, go! Hopefully, and with a little bit of cheating (we were $1.000 short) we made it 😀 (I mean, my teammates and me)

Apart from that, I’ve been sleeping very little, which tends to get my teeth on edge. But after presenting this project and after a horrible, nay, dreadful Calculus Exam due Saturday, I will be able to rest for a bit.

Now, for the movie criticism:

Jane Eyre

I had read a pocket version of the book, so I was somewhat familiar with the story, but I couldn’t remember all the details well. Anyway, I enjoyed it. It’s the sort of movie you wish to see on a rainy afternoon curled up with popcorn and a blanket. Can be watched alone or with someone, that someone preferably a friend who has the same tastes in romantic movies. I don’t know if it’s for all men’s tastes, but it has some suspense that, if you don’t know anything about the story, can be quite thrilling.

The performances are good and the script… well  one cannot be 100% in agreement with it, but it’s good none the less.

What I will say about the film, is that in the beginning can be confusing at best. They tried to make it as if Jane was remembering her past, but unless you know the story, you can confuse that little girl for her daughter or who ever. They didn’t get that part very well.

All in all, I liked it! Maybe I could watch it again in some months.

So, that was my little post for now. Maybe on saturday I’ll post again. But I wont be this late again! I’ll try!

So next movie shall be…

Burlesque!

I can take sugestions as well

Have a great week everybody!
